Concert at Waimea Valley May 8

Yesterday was the much awaited concert at Waimea Valley. This was a benefit concert for the girls' hula halau, with well-known performers Liko Martin and Kekoa Kane and the Abrigo Ohana. The girls did GREAT!!! I kept reminding them (and bribing them) to keep smiling, and as you can tell from the videos, they did just that. I was so proud of them, and they were happy too. Elysse would have loved to have performed as well...maybe next year! She loves to sing and dance hula around the house.

In the line, they are the 2nd and 3rd ones from the end. The woman in front is their "kumu", or teacher.

As the secretary of the halau, I was in charge of the silent auction. It was a lot of work, and I am so happy it is done. Having zero experience with silent auctions, I was so grateful for the people who helped provide ideas and those who helped set up etc. Nate was stellar. I am grateful for his support and help. It was a great success -- everything was sold! All proceeds went toward the halau.
