What a su-poop-er evening!

Sorry- this post is all about human excrement.

Nate was gone for the evening and the girls and I were eating dinner when Elysse stood up in her chair and said, "Poo-poo! Potty!" So I took her to the bathroom, took off her clothes, and sat her on the potty. Then I returned to the dining room to clear the table, but as I passed the bathroom, I saw Elysse standing up and growing a tail! I put down my dishes and tried to come up with some catching method that wasn't too gross (should I just place the dinner plate underneath?) but to no avail and down the poop plopped.

I asked Elysse if she had to make more poo-poo, and she said "Yes! More poo-poo!" I was trying to get her to sit on the potty, but she ran into the shower and then the girls came into the bathroom. Kezia asked me a question and I turned around when Ivy said, "Mom! Poo!" And out of the shower runs naked Elysse with a trail of poop behind her.

Now she's making poopy footprints on the floor and I put her in the bathtub and the girls are all firing questions at me. So I lock the door to regain sanity and take care of Elysse who is now pointing to her poopy footprints and saying, "Mommy! Poo-poo! Mommy! Poo-poo!" But 30 seconds later, Ivy is pounding on the door saying 'I have to go poo-poo NOOOWWW!" So I let her in.

Elysse has finished her bath by now and I put on her shirt and brush her teeth. But then she says, "Mommy! Poo-poo! Potty!" I take her shirt off again and now have two girls doing their business and, according to Ivy, "looking so cute". I go to the livingroom to begin reading a promised story to Kezia, but get up after sentance #2 due to the giggling in the bathroom. I figured Elysse was done with this potty run, and go into the bedroom to get a diaper. But as I come out, Elysse is streaking across the kitchen yelling, "Mommy! Shi-shi! Mommy! Shi-shi!" And sure enough, there is a puddle of shi-shi (urine) on the kitchen floor.

By this time it was too much and I just had to laugh.

Oh the mommy moments we can laugh about (eventually!). Sounds like you're on the road to no diapers though! Wish I could say the same!

I started "potty training" taryn today. She shows so many signs, but getting her to actually GO in the potty is the problem. Maybe I should have her go in the shower and just learn what it is like to GO. Not that our drain would appreciate it, but anything to get that kid to poop!

As gross as that was to read it made me laugh a lot! Thats when you take the kids all out side and hose them off for a few hours!

Cheri--Taryn already did poop in the shower---remember when it landed on Keara's head when she was a newborn??

Heidi--there are these moments that I wish they could all just be in diapers and make the world a happier place.
