A very happy birthday

Well, besides the new number I have acquired, my birthday was fantastic. There were many kind people who called to wish me a happy day.

Nate surprised me with a surprise party Sunday night (well, the surprise may have been leaked once or twice). We had a nice dinner at Kay's house, then people kept coming...and coming...and coming to share cake and ice cream with us.

But it wasn't just any ordinary cake. Nate and the girls had whipped up an amazing ice-cream cake, with berries, cake, neopolitan ice cream, chocolate wafers, and ghiradelli chocolate. You had to taste this to believe it. It was out of this world.


And the people who came were so nice. Some of them I didn't know very well. I wonder if they came for me or because they heard "cake and ice cream"!! But it was so thoughtful of Nate to do that for me.

Then on my birthday the girls piled gifts on my lap that they were busy putting together during the weekend. Most of them were their own toys. How sweet.

Nate and I headed down to Waikiki that night to go to Outback Steakhouse (a man whom we had taught had given us a gift certificate), walk around Waikiki, sleep on Kay's boat under the stars and the fresh air, and surf in the morning. It was a great birthday with many thoughtful people.... and check out the ultimate birthday gift below!!!
