Halloween

Kezia and Ivy's dream came true--just like Pinnochio wished to become a real boy, they got their closest taste to becoming real puppies. With some quick cutting and glueing and sewing, and a really ugly, protruding warewolf/dog nose, the scene came together. As we were about to head out the door, Nate thought, "What about us? What are we going to wear?" A trip down the costume-strewn isle that resembled a vandalized horror shop: rubber body parts, witch's hats, white, stringy wigs in a tangle on the floor, black cloaks, goblin masks, and face paint threatening to fall off their hangers on the wall--revealed our last-minute clown costumes. A classic.

Because the young men were in charge, Nate thought that he had to attend the trunk or treat, which is where you trick or treat around a parking lot and people near their decorated or undecorated cars pour candy into your bags, whether or not you say trick or treat. It is a halloween disgrace in my opinion. It ended up he didn't have to be there, and perhaps it was a good thing after all, because our girls got tired quickly. But we had a great time. Now, two weeks later, I have pawned off almost all the candy to hungry teenagers.
